The Drazen’s fail in an attempt to kill Jack and Senator Palmer. Palmer agrees to allow the press to believe that he was killed in the explosion, in order to save Kim. The Drazen's learn that their plan was unsuccessful when Jack answers a phone call from them. Jack offers to trade himself for Kim, unaware that she has escaped.
