Production of the eighth season of 24 has been temporarily put on hold whilst Kiefer Sutherland undergoes minor surgery.
Sutherland sustained a ruptured cyst earlier in the week, and is now set to go under the knife.
It is not expected that the disruption caused will be sufficient enough to lead to deviation from the planned air dates of future episodes.
