Despite some degree of hesitance, George Mason allows Jack to interrogate Nina Myers. Jack enters the room and locks his eyes on the killer of his wife, as he places Nina’s Presidential pardon agreement on the table in front of her. Having looked at it, Nina tells Jack that she needs to be on a plane to Visalia immediately. Jack wants a name from her but she refuses to give out a name until they arrive in Visalia. Jack questions her credibility, to which Nina argues that she only gets the pardon if she tells the truth, so why wouldn’t she? Jack loses patience and throws the table in front of her aside and demands that she gives him a name. Nina refuses to be intimidated, and tells Jack that if he lays a hand on her, he’ll be taken off the case. She then smugly tells Jack that he is going to have to follow her lead, to which he reacts by launching her chair back towards the wall and throttling her. Jack threatens Nina as George Mason rushes into the room and tells him to let her go. Jack releases the pressure from Nina as she then gasps for air.
George takes Jack out of the room and tells him he’s off the case because he has “lost it”. Jack strongly argues his case for continuing, and once again persuades George to let him confront her. This time, Jack requests that the temperature is raised ten degrees.
Jack re-enters the room and calmly asks again for the name of the man in Visalia. The question is met with no response, prompting Jack to draw his weapon and fire two gunshots narrowly above her head. Nina then gives out a name without hesitation, shaken by Jack’s actions. Jack says that they already know that name, to which Nina argues that the difference is that she knows where he is situated. Visibly shaken, Nina begins to tell Jack about the man in question; Mamud Faheen, without disclosing his location. Jack once again tries to prise the location of Faheen from Nina, but she refuses. “If you knew how to get to him you wouldn’t need me anymore, and the deal I made wouldn’t do me much good if I’m dead.” she says. Jack quietly accepts that he has gone as far as he can, and lowers his weapon. He glances at the security camera, to suggest as much to Mason, and leaves the room.
