Background info: After attempting suicide by launching her neck onto a needle, CTU doctor’s urgently work on the pierced artery. Mid-treatment, Nina takes hold of the tube applying anesthesia into her system, and prevents it from circulating; unbeknown to anyone else.
Tony says that nobody must leave the room where she was being treated unless he gives permission, and heads over to see Chappelle. Rae just wraps up her questioning of Jack as Tony enters the room. Seeing the blood splattered over Tony’s clothing, Chappelle asks him what happened. Tony explains that Nina tried to commit suicide, prompting Jack to ask who was with her now. Before Tony gives a specific answer, the alarm sounds. Jack runs to the medical department to find the medical team scattered across the floor. One survivor informs Jack of the direction Nina went. A panicking Kim Bauer sees a security guard lying dead on the floor, proceeds to pick up his weapon, and goes in search of Nina.
Kim sneaks up on Nina and tells her to drop her gun and put her hands on her head. Nina tells Kim not to get involved, walk away, and not get hurt. Kim continues to point her weapon at Nina, as Nina begins to raise her gun in her direction. “Don’t do it Nina or I swear to God I’ll shoot you.” “You won’t kill me”, replies Nina, as Jack bursts onto the scene, firing a shot at Nina, knocking her to the ground. Jack tells Kim to leave the room and inform the rest of CTU of the situation. Kim is stopped in her tracks as she tries to remind Jack that they need Nina alive as she may possess vital information, as Jack forcefully asks her to go. Nina tries to reach for her gun, before seemingly giving up. “You don’t have any more useful information do you, Nina?” “I do” replies Nina. She then begins to reach for the gun once more, prompting Jack to declare “No, you don’t!” before shooting her three times. Jack looks on as the smoke from bullets clear, bringing an end to the episode - and indeed, Nina Myers.
