Having come under attack at Felsted Security, Jack realises that CTU must have been compromised with someone giving out their location. Jack makes a phone call on his cell phone to which Audrey questions who he was calling. Jack’s reply: “The only person I can trust right now.”
After managing to work their way through the building, with Jack taking out the hostiles as he encountered them - Jack and Audrey witness the garage door opening in front of them with further hostiles on the way in. Jack takes out a couple of these before handing a weapon to Audrey to use whilst Jack grabs one of the fallen hostiles’ weapon. Before long, they both run out of ammo with two hostiles bearing down on them. Seemingly helpless to resist, they are rescued in the nick of time by no other than Tony Almeida, who shoots down the thugs from the garage entrance. A truly brilliant moment. To our knowledge, Tony was still imprisoned but this was proved not to be the case in the most dramatic fashion.
We later learn in the following episode that Tony had Jack and President Palmer to thank for getting him out of jail. Tony told Jack that he had a debt to pay to Jack for his role in getting him out of prison, and this act was the repayment of it.
